Welcome!

What do you need to know to start using PHES ODM?

Here, learn what you need to get started with PHES ODM in a few articles; starting with how to use templates and ending with how to report metadata. After you are comfortable with these basics, you can learn more with additional PHES ODM educational resources.

Totally new here?

If you're looking to get started, download a small practice template and watch this 12-minute video to walk you through getting started with the bare essentials of the ODM. The video includes an example of how to record sample information, surveillance measures, and some essential meta-data.

Digging into the technical details

If you want to gain a deeper understanding of how the ODM can work in practice, check out our series of videos on how to populate and use all the fields and tables in the ODM. You can also read the Understanding Relationship Tables and the Navigating the Parts Table sections in the documentation to understand how the more complicated structures in the ODM can work to capture more challenging data.
