An early adopter of version 1 of the ODM and still using an adapted version, AdvanSentinel was jointly established by Shionogi and Shimadzu in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company does strong work in detecting and quantifying viruses in wastewater, and performs surveillance for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and other viral targets in wastewater for numerous areas across Japan. They were awarded the Japan Open Innovation Prize in February of 2023 in recognition of their work.
CETo uses the ODM in its app for tracking, disseminating, and notifying communities of wastewater surveillance information around SARS-CoV-2 and other health threats.
CoVaRR-Net, or Coronavirus Variants Rapid Response Network, is a network of interdisciplinary researchers from institutions across the country created to assist in the Government of Canada’s overall strategy to address the potential threat of emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants. Our mandate is to coordinate, facilitate, support and accelerate rapid response research throughout Canada.
The first adopter of the PHES-ODM - and a crucial foundational partner to the development of the model - the Delatolla research group has been one the first labs to do wastewater surveillance in Ontario and Canada. They have been sharing the data in ODM format since the early days of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, and have supported local dashboard to inform citizens and public health officials alike about the situation in the wastewater.
The Digital European Exchange Platform for SARS-CoV-2 and its variants Wastewater reflects in an unbiased manner the biological, chemical and physical impact of human settlements on water used. During the Covid-19 pandemic, wastewater monitoring revealed itself as a useful, complementary and independent, objective approach to COVID-19 surveillance and testing strategies.
The OADP analyses qPCR data output for SARS-CoV-2 and performs QA/QC checks according to the laboratory practices and procedures of the Delatolla group. The data is prepped for the ODM. The Ottawa Automatic Data Pipeline is a joint project of the Delatolla Research Group at the University of Ottawa, and the PHES-ODM Research Team at OHRI and was led by Élisabeth Mercier and Martin Wellman.
PHES ODM is supported by many institutions who help make it possible.
